How to use it

  1. Look up recent sold prices for the raw card and for the grade you expect.
  2. Enter the grading fee you will actually pay and your shipping cost.
  3. Add a selling fee % if you will sell on a marketplace.

Net graded = graded value × (1 − fee%) − grading cost − shipping. Extra = net graded − raw value × (1 − fee%). ROI = extra ÷ (grading cost + shipping).

The grade you get is never guaranteed. Use real recent sales, and also try the result with one grade lower.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about this tool

How do I know if a Pokémon card is worth grading?

Subtract grading and shipping costs from the expected graded sale, then compare with what the card sells for raw. If the extra is small or negative, grading is not worth it.

What graded value do I need to break even?

Break-even graded value = (raw value × (1 − fee%) + grading cost + shipping) ÷ (1 − fee%). The calculator shows it for you.
